Just 24 hours after the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again Première in London, Björn attended the opening ceremony of the Slottsholmen hotel, restaurant and conference complex at Slottsholmen in Västervik, the town where he grew up.

In front of 250 invited guests, Björn talked how his nearly 9-year old dream had finally come true. Among the guests were a number of politicians and businessmen who had been involved in the project as well as tennis legend Björn Borg and artist Anders Wendin.

The opening ceremony had a break in the middle of the party for everyone to walk 100m on the red carpet to Stegeholms Slottsruin (Stegeholm Castle Ruins) where a screening of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

In his opening speech, Björn spoke of his love for the city of Västervik and managed to avoid the subject of the roller-coaster journey the project had been through although he said he never doubted or lost hope along the way.
