Additional information

Wogan was a British television talk show which was broadcast on BBC1 from 1982 until 1992, presented by Terry Wogan. The show was generally broadcast live from the BBC Television Theatre in Shepherd's Bush, London until 1991. It was then broadcast from the BBC Television Centre. Some shows were pre-recorded, but broadcast unedited, 'as live'. Wogan ended its run in July 1992 (it was replaced by the soap opera Eldorado).

Agnetha appeared LIVE on British TV performing The Last Time and was interviewed by host Terry Wogan.

Running order of the show:

  1. Phil & Evelyn Smith with baby son Karl (the baby had been blind prior to an operation two weeks prior to this interview)
  2. David Vine (sports commentator) & skiing brothers Martin & Graham Bell.
  3. Greta Scacchi (actress)
  4. Agnetha - The Last Time
  5. Agnetha interview. Agnetha sang a couple of lines of Swedish folk song Vem Kan Segla Forutan Vind? (Who Can Sail Without Wind?) with a couple of giggles thrown in.

A brief clip of Waterloo from Top of the Pops was shown with Terry describing it was probably the best ever Eurovision entry.

Some interesting coicidences here - David Vine did the UK TV commentary, and Terry Wogan did the UK radio commentary when ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974.  It was David Vine who mixed up Benny and Björn during the opening film before their performance.

The venue, the BBC TV Theatre has since been renamed the Shepherds Bush Empire and is currently the O2 Empire.

David Vine died on 11 January 2009.
Sir Terry Wogan died on 31 January 2016.

Terry attempting to kiss Agnetha as he greets her - Agnetha manages a brilliant swerve away from him to take her seat.
