Björn gave a quick good luck message to the contestants during an introduction of show, saying "Good luck to everyone in Dublin tonight."

Later in the show Björn and Benny sent a message together which was undoubtedly pre-recorded beforehand. 

Terry Wogan (doing the commentary for the UK), said, "We have a word from Benny and Björn."  Björn said, "Eurovision never helped anyone's career!" to which Benny replied, "It's a complete waste of time really!" and they both laughed.

On the night this was shown in just 1/4 of the screen.
