Additional information

Both the books ABBA by ABBA and ABBA - The Book refer to two programmes being filmed in Canada.

  1. From ABBA by ABBA, "... they travelled to Canada where two additional TV programmes were made ..." and from
  2. ABBA - The Book: "... two television programmes were made in Vancouver". Neun at Night must be one of them with The Wolfman Jack Show being the other.

Neun at Night was a Vancouver production, starring home-grown singer and comedian, Mike Neun. This series debuted on Tuesday 24 May 1977 at 21:30, as The Ottawa Journal reports on 21 May 1977 on p.118. The Ottawa Journal on 3 June 1977 on p.30, listed in the TV guide Neun at Night at 18:00, featuring ABBA.

ABBA performed Dancing Queen and Fernando. Frida doesn't look as happy and focussed as normal in the Dancing Queen clip. Sometimes the lighting makes the girls' outfits look purple rather than the light blue we know they actually are.

It does seem a little strange that CBC waited more than 7 months to broadcast the songs, but one of The Wolfman Jack Show also wasn't aired until March 1977 and comparing it to Frida’s Live It Up!Citytv Interview and That's Life appearances, (recorded in September 1982 but not broadcast until February 1983), it does at least seem that CBC did not hurry such things.
