Additional information

This series ran from 18 March 1970 to 24 August 1976 on NCRV, Netherlands and contained 84 episodes.

ABBA appeared on Episode 51.

ABBA performed Waterloo to playback and were interviewed in English by presenter Eddy Becker (because they didn't speak Dutch and he didn't speak Swedish).

Eddy had contracted ABBA to appear before they won the Eurovision Song Contest. Stig ensured that his promise for ABBA to appear on this show was fulfilled, even though they were in huge demand following their Eurovision win.

All Eddy Becker shows (one in 1974 and two in 1975 featuring ABBA) have been erased. Apparently TV company NCRV saved "Best of" Compilations but these were all destroyed** in 1976 when the the show finished and the original logs were thrown away when they moved to a new building. But according to page 91 of ABBA - The Book by Jean-Marie Potiez and ABBA Annual, the Eddy Becker Show was sold to the BBC although there is no mention of this in the BBC files that it was ever acquired ... who knows?

On 16 August 1974, a compilation of the first 9 shows of The Eddy Go Round Show called Flashback included ABBA's performance.

This performance of Waterloo is one that we never thought we'd get to see.  **But thanks to a Dutch ABBA fan who transferred a load of video tapes to PC, this gem surfaced in a 'Best of Eddy'  from the 16 August 1974 compilation (see above paragrahp) turned up, without the interview.  So unless a miracle occurs, we are most unlikely to ever see the interview, but never know ....
