The Hep Stars performed Cadillac. The performance helped lead to their chart success.
The book Cadillac Madness - The Hep Stars by Dan-Eric Landén & Carl-Magnus Palm says this about this performance:
“On March 23, 1965, five long-haired young men caused a sensation on the Swedish television screens. Running back and forth across the stage, and jumping up and down on the speakers, they performed a song called ‘Cadillac’. After this legendary performance, lead singer Svenne Hedlund became Sweden’s biggest teen idol, and organ player Benny Andersson took the first steps in a career that would later bring him worldwide fame.”
Benny recalled, “We had something no other Swedish pop band had, which was a stage show. We were fun to watch as we jumped up on the speakers and shook our heads. Our show came across on television well.”
(Bright Lights, Dark Shadows by Carl Magnus Palm)
This would appear to be Benny's first TV appearance.
