Torshälla 700 år = Torshälla 700 years

Torshälla is a village situated in the district of Eskilstuna. In 2017, Torshälla celebrated it's 700th year with a range of events.

Frida moved to Torshälla as a small child with her grandmother and grew up there. When she was 15, she started performing with Bengt Sandlund's big band. There she met her prospective husband, Ragnar Fredriksson, who played trombone but also pianist Gunnar Sandevärn. In 1964 and 1966, Anni-Frid toured as a vocalist together with Gunnar Sandevärn's trio. Gunnar Sandevärn received a job as an entertainer on the Norwegian American Line, and Anni-Frid formed her own orchestra Anni-Frid Four with her husband Ragnar.

As part of the town's 700 year celebrations, Frida and Gunnar Sandevärn took part in an interview as their most famous "children" (with Frida being the only world-famous "child").  Alar Kuutmann asked the questions.  The interview was broadcast live on the internet and covered by a couple of local news stations.

A live audience were able to watch Frida on the stage for free. She talked about growing up in Torshälla and her life in music - which had started in Torshälla.

Frida also finally received the Eskilstuna district's Music Prize which she had been awarded in 2014 but had been unable to attend the award ceremony.

A beautiful picture of Frida taken that afternoon was used on the cover of the local Torshälla magazine.

Below is the 'official' footage I am aware of - there was probably a lot more. With many fans in the crowd, there's a lot of private footage, some of which is available to view in the VIDEO section.
