Additional information

Björn was interviewed by Charlie Stayt and Susanna Reid on the BBC's Breakfast programme the morning after the Boston Marathon bombings.

Consequently, the interview seemed a bit rushed and the programme concentrated on the breaking news story instead. Björn's interview covered his composition with Benny for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest (We Write The Story), ABBA The Museum, what each ABBA member was currently up to (and he told them Agnetha would soon be in the UK to do promotion for her new album) and of course, whether there would be a reunion.

The interview got off to a messy start when Susanna Reid mentioned that ABBA Gold was the third biggest-selling album of all-time (in the UK) and asked Björn what the top two were and he misunderstood them thinking they were asking which were the top-selling ABBA albums.

When asked how he kept so fit and healthy, Björn unfortunately replied that, "running was good unless you're in the Boston Marathon." He then quickly said, "which is terrible", throwing his hands up into the air.

Later that afternoon, Björn released a statement via the Facebook page of ABBA The Museum saying: "This morning on BBC Breakfast I let my tongue slip with terrible result. After a split second I understood that what I had said could be interpreted as a joke about the horrendous catastrophe that happened in the US today. I feel very, very bad about it, I am truly sorry and I hope that everybody understands that it was an unbelievably stupid slip of the tongue. As everyone else I feel sorrow about what’s happened and deep compassion with the victims of this atrocity."
