Leute Heute = People Today
A small report was featured in this programme showing Björn in Hamburg awarding grants to musicians in Hamburg.
He saw his star-shaped guitar from the Eurovision Song Contest and signed it for a fan.
The reporter also referred to the news that broke that day about Tom Hanks wanting to make a Mamma Mia! movie and the fact that Nicole Kidman had been cast in the lead role. See transcription here.
Mamma Mia! This news will make musical fans happy. Hollywood star Tom Hanks will make a Mamma Mia! movie of the very successful ABBA musical. Nicole Kidman will take the starring role. And there is also talk about Antonio Banderas and Keira Knightley. All that will be co-produced by the screenwriters, ex-Abba-members Andersson and Ulvaeus. The latter has been shown at an awards show yesterday.
Actually it should act about the future young artists when Björn gave grants to student musicians yesterday. But ABBA came back when a keen fan showed Björn the guitar with which he won the Eurovision Song Contest 1974. Björn did spend it for a good aim briefly after it. I never dreamed I'd see it again.
It's long ago. In the 70s the two couples had one hit after the other. Then the ABBA chapter was finished anytime. Both marriages broke up. They divided musical too. But Björn still got contact with the others.
Björn: Agnetha and I have a grandchild together. Tilda. She's 5. We meet every Christmas. I still work together with Benny, and Frida comes from time to time to visit us.
Thanks to Mamma Mia! they are still alive on stage. Since the premiére seven years ago the musical fills theatres worldwide.
Bjorn:The success was a big surprise. In autumn Mamma Mia! will be shown in Moscow and next year in China.
In time Björn works on a new musical. But it's secret for now, whats the musical about. But sure there will be the ear candys to sing with.
The Mamma Mia! movie is planned for release at cinemas at the end of 2007.
