Hosted by TV personality and now DJ, Johnny Vaughan, Björn presented the award for Best International Group (which was won by The Corrs (or as Björn called them "Corrs"). While there, of course, he promoted Mamma Mia!.

Thank ABBA For the Music was performed by The Super Troupers (comprising Steps, Billie Piper, B*Witched, Tina Cousins and Cleopatra).  

Apparently the ABBA medley came about after Björn and Benny agreed to present an award at the event, although it was only Björn there on the night.

It could be that this was the first time Björn may have met Cher backstage.  She would go on to appear in The Last Video in 2004 and in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again in 2017.

The Manic Street Preachers were presented their award by Kylie Minogue who performed When All Is Said and Done at the ABBA Tribute in Hyde Park in 2009.
