Countdown was the longest-running and most popular weekly Australian music television show broadcast by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation from 8 November 1974 until 19 July 1987. There were around 600 episodes and they were produced at the ABC in Melbourne and broadcast nationwide on Australia's government-owned broadcaster, ABC.  The programme had a huge and loyal audience with a new episode screened every Sunday evening and then repeated the following Saturday evening.

The majority of the 1970s Countdown episodes are no longer in ABC archives because they were wiped around 1981 when then Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser slashed the ABC budget which made the ABC bigwigs at the time decide to re-use the video tapes that Countdown was filmed on. These were special tapes and worth about $1,000s each. but luckily this ABBA segment survived the sorting out as it was filmed onto 16mm material, from where it was edited into the videotape of the aired production.

Björn was briefly interviewed for this programme, by Molly Meldrum and asked what was his opinion on new-wave  music. Some segments were taped for the upcoming special called Countdown Ends The Decade as well as a greeting to the Countdown programme.

After the inteview some segments was shown from the Copenhagen concert.
