Additional information

Episode summary: Actor and singer Anthony Newley was the co-host in Hollywood, Mike visits Carol Burnett and her husband Joe Hamilton; and regulars from The Carol Burnett Show including Harvey Korman, Tim Conway and Vicki Lawrence. In the studio, singing group ABBA, Mel Tillis and author Wayne Dyer are guests. In film clips from past shows: Red Skelton and Marvin Hamlisch.

ABBA performed Money Money Money and Dancing Queen.

They were presented with an award by The Sun newspaper (UK) for Top Pop Act of the Year and the prize was given to them by Anthony Newley. This was relayed to British viewers by satellite. Björn said, "Now we want to come back to Britain to say thank you."

During their appearance on Wonderama, you can hear the presenter, Bob McCallister, say to ABBA, "I know that you appeared on Mike Douglas Show".

NB. When researching information, I contacted the organisation responsible for The Mike Douglas Show and they said, "We have no record of ABBA appearing on this show."

However, they are not listed on The Mike Douglas Show web-site as guests and this message was received from their production company after I enquired for information: "We don't see any dates with ABBA appearing on The Mike Douglas Show. However, we do have them listed as appearing on The John Davidson Show on 3/5/81. The show tape still exists, but in it's original 2" tape format. It would cost you between $200 and $300 to get the show transferred to a current day tape format."

Mike Douglas died on 11 August 2006.
