Benny attended the opening ceremony of the new campus, the Royal Hall, at Kungliga Musikhögskolan (KMH) (Stockholm's Royal Colleget of Music). He had helped raise money to equip the new building via his involvement with the Music For Millions fundraising campaign

He presented an especially-written musical piece with lyrics by Björn, Vi äger drömmarna (We Own The Dreams).

Benny's wife Mona and Görel Hanser were also among the invited guests along with Göran Arnberg from BAO! who is an alumni of Kungliga Musikhögskolan (KMH) and wrote the choral arrangements for Benny and Björn’s new composition. King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia were also in attendance.

A concert took place featuring a mixture of modern, folk and traditional works by acclaimed Swedish composers. KMH students performed the choral Vi äger drömmarna, towards the end of the performance. Benny took the stage briefly afterwards to acknowledge the applause and thank the conductor and musicians.

Benny was awarded with an Honorary Fellowship of Kungliga Musikhögskolan.

The concert was scheduled to be broadcast on Swedish radio on Thursday 9 February 2017.  Film from the ceremony was included in a TV documentary about KMH shown later in 2017.
