In a press conference at ABBA - The Museum, Björn announced that singer, Laleh Pourkarim, would perform ABBA's song Chiquitita in support of young girls as part of a collaboration between ABBA - The Museum and UNICEF Sweden. All royalties received will be donated to UNICEF.  At the moment, UNICEF had already collected 30M Swedish Kronor from the song.

Björn said in a press release: “I am proud and happy that she came up with her fine version of Chiquitita.  We can help them (young girls) with education, so that they can stand up against culturally or religiously conditioned patriarchy that wants to keep them down."

The initiative "pressplaytogive" was launched, which makes it easier to give donations. All you have to do is play the song in, for example, Spotify, iTunes and YouTube.  

"With our new initiative, we want to make it easy to give a gift and at the same time spread the message about children's rights. We invite more people to listen and give by pressing "play", says Véronique Lönnerblad, Secretary General of Unicef ​​Sweden, in the press release.

ABBA The Museum will also work to bring the project to life. This will be incorporated into a new exhibition at the museum around the song where visitors can join in and contribute, including by singing the song in the museum's singing booth.

To get even more people to listen, every year ABBA will invite a new artist to record the song.

“It's incredibly exciting to be involved in this project”, said Laleh in a filmed greeting, “I love ABBA and I love the song. It may not change the world, but it can change some person's world like mine was changed.”

The ABBA Museum on Djurgården also made a special exhibition on "Chiquitita" and the cooperation with UNICEF. In particular, efforts to help girls and young women's rights in the world.
