Additional information

The (Marianne & Sigvard) Bernadotte Art Awards was established in 1992 to mark the late Sigvard Bernadotte's 75th Birthday.  Marianne and Sigvard Bernadotte's mission was to support young artists to develop their talents at an early stage in their careers. The grants are awarded each year to young scholars in music, theatre, design and art. Over the years, the foundation has awarded grants to over 150 artists; many of these young artists have later become very successful.

Agnetha attended the 2012 awards.  She was asked how she felt about what Siv and Marianne Bernadotte had done for artists in Sweden.

Agnetha answered that she thought it was wonderful that they took their time to do it, and she also thought it was wonderful that because of it, research had been done for eye disease in children. She also said it was lovely to be there with all those people and to learn more about the work they do.

Thanks to Harald Ehler and Karin Angeleyes.
