Additional information

Ein Kessel Buntes was a series on DDR (East Germany) which ran from 29 January 1972 to 19 December 1992, and was 6 times a year on Saturday evenings and always had a huge budget to show the biggest national and international stars.

The series contains 118 Episodes. A repeat of these performances was shown on Das Blaue Fenster.

Episode 15, guests on the programme (in order):

  1. ABBA - Waterloo
  2. Herricht & Preil (comedy sketch)
  3. Jiří Korn (Czech) - 2 songs
  4. Russian folk dance
  5. Ireen Sheer (UK) - Goodbye Mama and Bye Bye I Love You
  6. Omara Portuondo and Martin Rojas (Cuba) - 2 songs
  7. Comedy sketch
  8. Opera scene - excerpt of Offenbach: Orpheus in der Unterwelt
  9. Andreas Holm - Morgendrot, Abendrot
  10. Schnellers' chimpanzees (Hungary) a circus act
  11. Das Fernsehbalett (a ballet scene)
  12. Koncz Zsuzsa (Hungary) - He, mama and The night they drove old Dixie down
  13. ABBA - Honey Honey, So Long and Waterloo (in German - part only)
  14. Finale

The performance of So Long was broadcast on 1 January 1978 in USSR on the First Channel during a New Year's programme.

Honey Honey has been released on the CD/DVD ABBA - Waterloo Deluxe Edition on 6 April 2014. (There is a little confusion about the filming and broadcast dates.  The DVD booklet states that Honey Honey was filmed on 7 November and broadcast on 23 November.  Görel's diaires state filming was on 7 November 1974 which obviously conflicts with the broadcast date (as per TV listings) of 2 November 1974 unless ABBA were time travellers!).
