Melodie einer Stadt = Melody of a City
Melodie einer Stadt was an occasional series of musical documentary city portraits, made by ZDF. A newspaper cutting from De waarheid - 4 January 1968, p.6 mentioned it was an INTERTEL production.
The various episodes featured: Athens, Budapest (1965); London (1967); Rome (1968); New Orleans (1981); Caracas, Mexico City, Bogota, Saõ Paulo (1982); Vancouver, Quebec Stadt (1983); Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, New Delhi (1985); Dresden (1990), Cologne (1991) and so on. Some episodes (including this one) were repeated on NCRV in the Netherlands (renamed Melodie van een stad) in the late 60's.
The Hootenanny Singers appeared on this German programme from 1966, presented by famous jazz pianist Paul Kuhn. They sang Bonnie Ship The Diamond.
They were filmed from every possible angle in and around the af Chapman (boat) on Skeppsholmen, ironically not far from the current Mono Music offices.
Guests in this episode, were:
Bibi Johns
Lill Lindfors
Ann Louise Hanson
Grynet Molvig
William Clauson
Berndt Ost
Ola Lundström
Konstanze Vernon & Winfried Krisch
Family Four
The Hootenanny Singers and
Skansen-Folklore-Gruppe
The script was written and directed by Chuck Kerremans.
There was another edition from Stockholm, broadcast on ZDF on 23 February 1986.
The programme was also shown on Thursday 4 January 1968, 20:20-21:05, NCRV, Netherlands and renamed Melodie van een stad.

The response from Beld en Geluid archives was:
Thank you for your email. The programme you are looking for is a German production (ZDF). We only hold the audio-visual archives of the Public Broadcasts of the Netherlands, so only Dutch productions.
The NCRV broadcasted it once, but in such cases they licenced the programme to show just once and they are not allowed to sell it to third parties. No, we don't have it in our archives.
The NCRV only 'bought' it for one time broadcast. (October 2015)
(from ZDF): ……(November 2015)
It can be concluded therefore that in the 70s, TV companies borrowed their master film for broadcast abroad, to save money. NCRV only aired it and returned it, but this film material does not exist nor in the ZDF or NCRV film archives any more.
